Who would be the audience for your media product?
I think that our
target audience would be appealing to young adults and over. Our character
isn’t particularly someone that the audience can relate to so this might make
our film more intriguing because it’s not a normal thing people see all the
time in media due to many enigmas we have used such as the briefcase and why
she is looking at a map of different places in Europe.
However, I also think
that middle aged people would also be interested in the film since it’s a
thriller. I have looked into this researched and have found this table:

This shows us that the
age group of males that is most likely to watch a thriller is age 55 and over
because that is the most popular age group from all the ages to want to watch a
thriller. And within that category of males (55+) it is the 3rd most
popular genre, it is followed by comedy which 171 55+ year old males voted for
and also action/ adventure which also 171 55+ males voted for.
Furthermore, if we
look at the females it has a similar result; that out of all the age groups, 55
and over females are more likely to watch a thriller out of all the other
female age groups. And out of that age group of 55+ female audience it is the 2nd
most popular genre which is followed by Drama which 220 55+ woman have voted
for.
In conclusion, this
research that I have done has been helpful because it has allowed me to see
that our film may also appeal to older audiences as well as younger audiences
that we were also trying to make our film appeal to.
